Request Sacraments
Holy Cross Parish and Friary is honored to serve those seeking the sacramental life of the Church and the pastoral care of Christ. Whether you are preparing for Baptism, seeking Christian Marriage, arranging funeral or memorial care, or asking for prayer and pastoral support, we welcome your request with reverence, compassion, and confidentiality.
This page is intended to help you take the first step. You do not need to have every detail prepared before reaching out. If you are unsure where to begin, simply contact us and we will gladly help guide you with care and clarity.
How to Request a Sacrament or Pastoral Care
To begin, choose the type of request below and contact Holy Cross Parish and Friary by phone or email. If you are writing to us, it is helpful to include your name, the sacrament or pastoral need you are inquiring about, your preferred contact information, and any time-sensitive concerns.
Every request is received prayerfully and personally. We will do our best to respond with kindness, discretion, and pastoral attention.
Baptism
Holy Baptism is the sacrament of new life in Christ and entry into the life of the Church. Holy Cross Parish and Friary welcomes requests for infant Baptism, child Baptism, and adult Baptism, and is honored to walk with individuals and families as they prepare for this sacred beginning.
When reaching out, it may be helpful to include:
- The name of the person seeking Baptism
- Whether the request is for an infant, child, or adult
- Any preferred dates or time considerations
- A phone number or email for follow-up
Christian Marriage
Holy Cross Parish and Friary welcomes couples seeking a sacramental marriage celebrated with reverence, beauty, and pastoral care. We joyfully serve couples, including LGBTQIA+ couples, who desire a Christian marriage rooted in faith, dignity, and love.
When contacting us about marriage, you may wish to include:
- The names of both persons
- Whether you are seeking a wedding, blessing of a civil marriage or union, or vow renewal
- Any hoped-for date or general timeframe
- Your preferred contact information
Funerals and Memorials
In times of loss, the Church is called to pray, to accompany, and to offer comfort in the name of Christ. Holy Cross Parish and Friary provides funeral liturgies, memorial services, graveside prayers, and pastoral care for grieving families and loved ones.
If you are requesting funeral or memorial care, please include as much of the following as you can:
- The name of the deceased or person in need of care
- Whether death has occurred or planning is being made in advance
- Any urgent timing needs
- The best phone number for immediate response
Pastoral Care, Prayer, and Blessings
Some needs do not fall neatly into a single category. You may be requesting prayer, a hospital or home visit, Holy Communion for the sick, Anointing, a blessing, spiritual counsel, or another form of pastoral care. Holy Cross Parish and Friary is here to serve those needs with tenderness and discretion.
You may wish to include:
- The nature of the pastoral need
- Whether the request is urgent
- The location, if a visit is needed
- The best way to reach you
Other Sacramental Requests
If you are seeking Holy Communion, Confirmation, Anointing, a house blessing, a chaplaincy visit, or another sacramental or pastoral service not specifically listed above, please feel free to contact us directly. We will help you discern the next step and connect you with the appropriate pastoral care.
What Happens Next
After you contact Holy Cross Parish and Friary, someone will follow up with you to learn more about your request, answer questions, and help guide you through the next steps.
